Just Drift presents “Top Drift” Southern California’s Formula Drift Affiliate ProAm series. This west coast series kicks off this weekend March 26-27th at Willow Springs International Raceway. Practice is on Saturday with 2 tracks available (Balcony and Oval). The Rd 1 competition starts on Sunday @ Balcony. “Just Drift” has been bringing amateur drivers to the pros for over 6 years now, drivers Justin Pawlak, Forrest Wang, Henry Schelly, and Joon Maeng have earned FD licenses with this series. Register for this practice/comp at http://www.justdrift.com – If you are interested in just spectating or hanging out Vegas drivers will be meeting at the Chevron on Russell and the 15 at 04:30am on Saturday Morning. The drive is roughly 3 hrs and admission to the track is $10.

We caught up with Mike Bolanos one of the OG’s in the Las Vegas Grassroots Drifting scene today after his 4th place victory that earned him a Co-Championship Title with Mickie Frial in the 2009 “Top Drift” Southern California Formula Drift affiliate Pro/Am series.

Vd: So Mike how does it feel to be Formula Drifts newest licensed driver?
MB: FD license… All I can say is wow! I was always been a little intimidated of even joining the pro-am series.  I’m very excited yet I have no idea where to start planning… Budgeting for making my demo car an FD spec car is a big question for me right now
Vd: So you will be in a different car next year?
