Ok, guys it's coming up.
This event will be a little different being that it is held in conjunction with Formula Drift. I've got a couple pointers that should help you with what you will need & what to expect with tech & logistics of just being there. (This isn't everything but it should help)
***First for tech:
Do this now don't wait until the day before!
-Go here & get a copy of the rule book:
http://vegasproam.com/rules-and-regulations/proam-tech-rulebook-2011/ Save a copy, make a hard copy, whatever. Just make sure you have it. This is your guidebook.
-Get some paper and a pencil/pen to make a list.
-Start at the beginning and go through the book with your car. If you’re good on the item check it off in the book, if not put it on your list! If you have a question, make a note.
-By the time you’ve gotten to the end of the book you should have a checked off book, a list of things you need to do, or some questions.
-If you have any questions regarding tech on your car, PM, email, facebook, text, call or have lunch with me & I’ll get an answer for you.
*** For yourself, crew & car:
Access will be limited & regulated. Run time is limited so be prepared.
-If you have any spare parts, equipment, tools, etc. that you might possibly need bring it with you in your trailer, support vehicle etc. (fuel, spare trans, spare turbo, suspension arms, etc.)
-When the venue is open to the public they don’t allow vehicles through the main gate. Try to get everything you need in before hand or have someone available on the ‘outside’.
-Make sure your support crew is properly attired for entering the “Hot Pit” area if they will be working there. Don’t be surprised if LVMS staff denies them access otherwise.
***Act Professional.
-It’s not just how you drive but how you present yourself (and team) to the public that will determine weather a potential sponsor (and even fans) will even consider you.
***Have fun!
-It shows; even if you’re busy, enjoy it. You could be somewhere else doing something you don’t like.
There is a tight schedule that has to be kept for this event. What I'm telling you here should help. See you guys there.
