Well Z33 is still a great tranny, sorry about what happened to you edpogi, but its still one of the best trannys. Just make sure you get the mazworks bell housing conversion and a good clutch, you should be fine.

Make sure you get the z33 tranny that wasn't made during the period of defects when I was working at Nissan everyone would joke around and say change the tranny in the 350s due to manufacture defects in the trans forgot what year it was nothing you can't find on Google lol

z32 trans or z33 trans? I thought it was the one from the 300zxtt that was a match to the rb25/26 trans. 350z trans is more than a RB25 trans I'm finding. It would mean less work to bolt on the RB25 trans and cost less at the same time. I'm running a stage 3 Competition Clutch, it has been amazing so far compaired to the no name stage 3/4/5 clutches that i have used. Besides the z32, RB20, RB25 use the same clutch, so as long as the clutch is still good i will continue to use it. Not looking to drop alot of $$$ right now before round 4!!!

I would slap the xtra trans u have in there and run it Joey. Worry about an upgrade in the off season. Could have been worse, could have happened ur first run of Rd.4.  If u want any help im off on weekends or i can put in work during the week after i get off at 5:30.  ;)

Thats the plan, just drop it in and hope its good. I agree, at least it was a practice event and not practice for round 4. It sucked not being able to drift but things break and thats never going to change. I will text you on Saturday. Going to try for Saturday afternoon to swap it out, if you want to swing by then that would be cool. I might start prepping everything tomorrow before i go to work, since the driveline is already off the diff it will make it easier.

oh... that explains it. joshs crazy comp clutch was the reason we shredded several z32 transmissions as well. the unsprung disc and crazy pressure plate just allow too much of a shock load to go straight to the transmission.

it is a double edged sword. either clutch slips a little and absorbs the shock load, or it doesn't and grenades the trans. it happens on all platforms, so not much you can do to get around it except crazy gearsets or a dogbox.

The best years for a Z33 transmission are 2006 and 07. Mazworx doesn't make a conversion bell housing they only make an adapter plate for the Z32 trans into an SR20. If your sponsored by Godspeed get them to copy the HKS trans or the Holinger.

Kyle, Thats the reason i got the disc with springs but guess it didn't help. I was just tired of slipping clutches, at least when my foot was off the clutch, it was 100% engaged. I wish i could do a dog box or straight cut gears but no $$$ for that right now. So i will just run the spare 20 trans for round 4 and get a 25 trans after that. I will just have to be nice and easy on the clutch to save the trans till i get a better one.

Old transmission is out, it is locked up internally. Spare trans should go in tomorrow and then its time to take it to the street. lol. Need to test the transmission asap to make sure its going to work for Round 4. Then its time for some body work, all new kit with rear wide overfenders, and I hope to have the new color on by Round 4 also. Pics should be up tomorrow...

New trans is in and running good. Added some style to the car in the form of a kit. Here are some pictures of the kit on the car before paint and rear over fenders. i will be putting those on soon.

Here is the rear with stock pulled fenders and xxr962 17x9. I will be adding spacers and overs soon.

Car is doing ok, killed an injector the day of qualifying round 4. This was just a tough year but through it all the car is making progress. Getting a new turbo from Godspeed and i ordered 6 more injectors so this will not happen again next year. Getting it tuned on Nistune when everything is on. This has been a year of learning for sure. I will post some pictures of the car with new paint and sponsor decals. We are also getting ready to take it on the road to XDC Texas. 15days and counting...
