last minute overhaul in effect. melted a piston on the sr day after fd vegas and found out about the best of vegas drift location and had to make it out reguardless.  so i took the motor apart and found a melted piston on the number 2 cylinder. Come to find out the oil squirter broke on that cylinder giving it no lubrication thus meltdown action. I got a used sr piston from Forrest  along with a timing chain guide and engine oil squirter and started operation special motor. I honed the cylinder out with a honing tool and got all of the piston debris out of the cylinder but there was some minor pitting in the cylinder wall. once everything was cleaned up i put the piston and oil squirter in and resealed the bottom end.resealed the front cover and replaced the broken timing chain guide then bolted on the crank pulley. Im gona re use my cosworth metal head gasket and arp studs today and put the head back on and set the timing.  this is what im calling the special technique motor.

ive never heard of a non-existent oil squirter causing a melted piston... we dont even run them on most cars... over advanced timing or running lean maybe?

Yep this should be pretty rare seeing as many racecars run without them. Detonation or oil starvation in some form or another is more likely.

So here goes some long needed attention to my car for this year.  I'm currently in the works with a 1jz setup its gona be equiped with a single turbo setup.  I've been long searching for the right motor tranny combo to be in stock and been taking way longer than expected. But word came in and the motor should be in the states sometime this week. So hopefully in my possesion in a a couple weeks.  I'm going with the single turbo vvti 1jz. For those who didn't know very sinilar to yaos but with a few upgradings from the factory. Along with the motor is gona be a os giken twin plate clutch with the throwout assembly upgraded from stock.( fork pushes from both side not just one side). And r154 trans with shifter extension.  Also started prepping the engine bay for full v mount setup to give some more engine bay clearance and cooler temps.  Doesn't look promising to make round one so looks like round 2 is gona be our deadline.

, Finally some long awaited progress on my car. Just got in a bunch of new parts along with the 1jz motor finally being shipped today. Picked up a new 330mm deep dish suede momo wheel, momo extended hub, nrg matte silver quick release v2, yellow drift ebrake knob, varrstoen neo-chrome tuner lug nuts, -16 fittings and ss braided hose along with weld on aluminum -16 an fittings for radiator setup, godspeed v2 S14 rucas for max positive camber, new power steering cooler core, and a new set of megan racing front coilovers with 9k springs, pair of S14 front LCA's, and ordering the pbm front knuckles this week. Just ben stocking up on parts to get my car back in shape for battle. Gona be freshing up the jz once it arives with all new seals and gaskets along with new turbo kit and mild tune at first to break it in. After gona step it up to the full standalone and bigger injectors head gasket and studs. Also need to order some new over fenders and get my aero resprayed. Having some minor chasis re inforcement to the front along with a v mount rad and intercooler setup. Hopefully will be out to test it at some of the future test in tune events before it hits the pro am events.
