First I'd like to thank all of you guys out there that put in the time to setup and run the event. It looked pretty busy on your end. For my first time out drifting, I surprised myself. Looking back however I found that I wasn't countering fast enough causing most of my spins. I know I didn't ask anyone for any help/advise this event but next event I would like for someone to give me some pointers preferably someone who has driven lower hp cars like the ae86(Tommy, or whomever else). Overall it wasn't bad. I almost took home 2 hay bails and dented my rf fender but nothing that can't be fixed. I guess I'm hooked on getting it sideways now.

This was also my first time out, and i gotta give a big shout-out to the VD staff! Thank you for putting on an awesome event!!!! The layout was sweet, safe, and insanely technical!! TONS OF FUN!!! need to save for tires and extra rims tho  Cool

Like heeltoeae86, i need to counter a little faster and streighten out a little sooner to smooth out my technique. on the next event i would like to have someone familiar with super-twitchey cars like the S2000 to ride along.

Thanks again to all the members and staff of Vegas drift for a really great time!

I was in the yellow S2000!!

not driving in this one was just short of heartbreaking, but just being there to witness the AMAZING results of this event was spectacular. Seriously the crowd turnout was huge, the drivers new and old were respectively tearing it UP! Just looking at this event got me itching to drive like none other XP. The track layout was just as gangster as Primm! I can easily say that vegasdrift came through for the community yet again in full force. Everybody made it a thriving heartpounding day, and i cant wait to see all you guys out at the next event!!
(hopefully ill be driving as well  Grin)

Best event I've been to so far, there was so many people! VD really shined today. I had a lot of fun. Even though I kept charging towards the crowd/k-rails/fence (not purposely) I felt I improved on other areas of the course and learned a lot by the end of the day. On my last few runs I was able to drift and connect the first 2-3 turns a few times. Although they weren't perfect I feel accomplished, have never done it before! This is just my 3rd event... I kind of just gripped the whole time last event.

hi there

Mad props to the VD staff and all the instructors who came to give a helping hand. The track layout was exceptional w/ the tight section at the beginning half and then the huge open chicanes at the end. Also those haybales weren't as hard as they were made out to be... and I have video to prove that.  Grin

I know I improved greatly this event, mainly just focusing on not fighting the car and really just guiding it as it went through its natural shifts in momentum while linking the corners.

Also, a couple people have already touched on this, but I just have to say that the turn out today was phenomenal. It was good to see a lot of new faces out there getting their cars sideways. The pits were packed with spectators and family/friends of drivers and there was definity no shortage of drivers overall. You got the feeling that VD was creating a community and not just a drift event.
With the abundance of sponsors, on track tire mounting service, and towing services it seems the vegas drift scene is blowing up.

This was also my first time out, and i gotta give a big shout-out to the VD staff! Thank you for putting on an awesome event!!!! The layout was sweet, safe, and insanely technical!! TONS OF FUN!!! need to save for tires and extra rims tho  Cool

Hey TJ,
Glad to see you had fun. Did you ever figure out what was going on with the smoke coming out of the exhaust? Your car seemed like it was making good power.

I am the guy in the white zenki s14 that was behind you that one time.

LAID OUT

« Reply #12 on: February 23, 2009, 02:56:57 AM »

Great event probably the best Vegas event I've ever been to. Excellent turnout/spectatorship, good spirits amongst the drivers, great action and some seriously gangster runs were laid. Great seeing so many old friends as well as many new guys out there. Really shows how much our community is growing.

People were rolling in nonstop when I was working the front gate with Wes in the afternoon. Great job on the promotion everyone.

Looking forward to some video!

I think I REALLLLYYYYYYY need to get my car up before the next event.... So motivational, yet frustrating watching yall kill it all day LOL

Thank you guys so much for putting on an awesome event. For my 1st event it was great. Too bad i lost power steering during my second set of runs and had to quit early   Sad  I was very pleased with the course layout and even linked a coupla of turns. And i really loved that 180 degree turn by the k-rail!!!! That was so nice when i could actually keep it all the way around. Next time my goal is to not break and actually ask for some tips and tricks Smiley

P.S. anyone get any nifty pics of me in the skuby? gotta rub it in the face of all the hardcore skuby guys  Grin

This was seriously a great event! Nick really outdid himself!

Man it was really good to see the progress Vegas drivers have made! Nick made the events happen and you guys really stepped up to the plate to support Vegas Drift and progress as drivers! I saw so much potential at that event! There is so much more fun ahead for the future of Vegas Drift! This is just a step towards bigger and better things!!! It was enough to make even me excited about driving! This is hands down the best event I have been to!
