I went to Spintek and got my Sr20 and manual swap done and thus far no problems. No stolen parts, and thus far they've helped me pretty good ;) Still looking at diving in myself to get some other stuff done and learn more about my WIP. I think that Anger might not solve this issue on either side :) I may be a Newb to drift but as an officer myself I think this case is pretty much done. It's prolly been too long and spintech / JTspeedworks has moved on. Maybe you should too, if you have a beef with them just chill and either do it yourself or find another mechanic. Otherwise just bashing them on a Social Forum like this might just get you banned 0.o besides parts are cheap enough for the s13 anyway. I personally will keep going to Spintek because 1. I know I have not lost or received stolen parts and 2. they have hooked me up on multiple occasions. If anything they were quick to fix a problem and parts that I bought, if they failed, they replaced. So I hafta give them a 5 star review on this matter. It kinda seems that someone flaming a shop because they got butthurt over some work that they got and somehow lost the BBB case, is kinda pointless and childish, dontcha think? Also I have had someone write a false review on Ripoffreport.com about my s13 coupe. I stumbled upon this while being curious about the shops rep. I am currently trying to get it removed because it is computer fraud. Ripoff report has claimed they will not remove it because of some outlandish reason stating that the shop could have contacted me about this. Which is false, they dont have my number and could not even get a hold of me if they tried. Just goes to show, some of these ripoff reports you find may be false and cannot be trusted. I feel for ya Nisr20 but maybe you should just cut your losses as I would in this case. Anybody wanting a decent shop to get some work done, Spintek is okay. JT has helped me quite a bit. Plus this may be his livelihood and he might not have any other means of making cash. Karma is a little bit of a bitch on this kind of stuff. I hope this doesn't affect any of the bashers here. Peace and Keep the Drift Fun!!! :)
I find it odd you join vegasdrift and the first post you make is on this thread. hmmmm
fish E ....

LOL, I know it may seem fish-e, but I meant no disrespect to the rest of the VD community. I am a person who is just honest about what I think who speaks without a filter, that is all. I've been coming to the VD forum for a while now (since 2008 and seen the changes) and never really decided to join till today for my s13, but to be honest spintek is the only shop that has touched my car and I havent been screwed, so why not stick up for them just a bit. I know alot of you dont really like them much and may think they are posers, but they have helped me and even tho I am making a decision to do some of my own work to learn my car better doesn't mean I dont like the work that they've done. I got screwed by CTR motorsports, Chance to be exact, who was supposed to swap my old blown Ka with another one after inspecting the new one. They swapped it without inspecting it (which can be dangerous as well) I am still in litigation about that. I love drift just as much as the next person and honestly I've known Mike Bolanos when we use to drift RC, if that shows how long I've been interested. So dont bash me for givin spintek a little credit. It's all Perspective, NiSr20 has his due to his experience, I have mine, and so do some of the others as well. All I'm saying is, as an unbiased S13 enthusiast, I have not had a problem with spintek or JT speedworks. And thanks for the warm welcome ;) tis kool tho. I love Drift, I am giving major Props to Forrest for placing first in the Pro-am round 3. Like I said I may be a Newb to drifting but not a Newb to the forum or the sport. I will post pics of my WIP sometime in the future, until then, I hope ya have a good one! :)

I'm glad they have at least one happy customer. If they did not joy ride peoples cars under the guise of using the remaining fuel to make the tank easier to take off, it might seem a little more credible.

My car has not had any problems I could not fix on my own, and for that I am thankful. That being said, I would never have them touch my car again.

Glad you had a good experience with them, it seems that your the only one.

Shinigami Welcome to the forum

1. I'm glad you had good experience with Josh & JT that's wonderful.
2. I'm not an angry or hateful guy. If the truth needed to be state what took place & believe I'm going to tell it. I believe I got my point across regardless of what stories they might of told you. I got the car back I SHOULD OF NEVER GOT IT BACK IN THAT CONDITION. He had more than enough time to work on it plus the delivery date was pushed back twice on me. You quote yourself "you can't rush quality work"

I paid top dollar AND I always had cash to deliver when I say so if JT want to go against that I love for him to call me right now and say I did him wrong in that matter. CASH EVERYTIME

As far as the BBB case ... was it right for JT to tell the lady I was not a customer of his. He worked on 2 of my cars and I'm not a customer of his? ... I don't think so and you tell me that he's an honest guy after that? Good luck convincing me.

I know you wanna give them props for doing you right that's great you wanna stand loyal and back the shop that did you right no one is bashing you for it.

As far as getting my parts back ... whats the "REAL" issue here? it's not his parts? It's mine so why can't I get it back?

Believe me Shin you be an upset guy too if you dipped out a significant amount of money for this hobby and got screwed over. Especially if those part were gift and they have sentimental values to it. Its not just my hard earned money that went into the car. it's my loved ones hard earn money to get me those gifts as well. Clearly you understood the feeling so you must know where I'm coming from. So since your so "Buddy" with JT you should ask him what happen to my parts for me. Coming from you I'm sure he wouldn't be too upset if you ask him. If I call him I don't want him to go all "Gangsta" on me calling me out to his shop like he wants my head on a stick ... real professional JT. Believe me I heard that "I have your parts come get it" BS already I went out to the shop a couple of times and I was NOT able to get everything back. while your at it you can ask JT what happen to my simple measly turbo timer too while your at it.

I understand Ni. I don't know exactly what happened, an I am truly sorry for your loss. I can ask him for ya. I don't consider myself his buddy, and I do understand where you would assume that, but respectfully maybe just a loyal customer more or less. :)

as far as the situation yes I would truly be upset about what happened. I'm sorry for your losses and that a good chunk of it was from family and his has some significant sentimental value, if it didn't I don't think it would have been such an issue. Me being a 240 owner I can definitely feel your pain. As far as the BBB I don't know about it. He has mentioned a person bashing him multiple times and I don't know if that's you but he also mentioned Garrett from some place, I don't know if it's Getnuts or some other place, but I didn't care at the time I was getting my work done. I can ask him for you and see what he says :)

I got screwed on some work by CTR motorsports and I'm in the process of litigation to get them shut down. Pretty much same situation just stole money and not parts. I should have been a little more aware that they were a Honda specialist but I needed the swap done for my 240 to run and I needed my daily to be back up :) they gave me their word that over the weekend it would be inspected and swapped. well what happened is they got it to run, but Left me with no fuel, left a quart of oil out of the engine, and they didn't inspect it. As soon as I got it home I was happy after being stuck in the rain in November pushing it home due to no fuel. I got fuel into it and started it up, Once started I was happy it was a little rough but I didn't think anything of it. I went to take it around my neighborhood and "it" happened one of the Rods let go and pushed through the crank case and severely gouged my crank. so I Lost my engine there. I do know how you feel. It might make me seem like a kid but my parents bought my 240 for me and losing that engine hurt something fierce.

As you can probably already tell any shop that does a good job at getting my drifter up and running right is A-okay by me :) I will be looking for a good fabricator for my cage and bash bars. Anybody know a real good one for a decent price?

Spintek is a joke and ill bash them everytime I hear there name. They bring a bad name to our drifting community and not to mention all the shitty work and generic parts they sell and install on there customer cars. I personally know 4 people that have all been screwed over by spintek and if ur the 5th. Then that's a 20% chance that they won't rip u off or fuck up ur shit. Along with claiming other shops work on there craigslist adds and posting pictures of other peoples work to try to make it look like they no what there doing .  GARBAGE....   I ain't scared to let people know to avoid a headache cause like yao said. A lot of us build these cars for years putting every dollar and extra time into these cars and to have some fake fraudy company taking advantage of our great drifting community can go Fuck themselfs. Straight up spintek is wack and I stand behind it.  And to the newguy to the forums if u haven't found a problem its probly cause u don't know what ur looking at cause anyone that takes there car to spintek deserves what they get if they read this thread and still go there.  Maybee well giuve them a inccentiive to change the shady ways

Statistics don't lie! From the people I've talked to most don't even know spintek exists the others know damn well to stand clear. I trust my dog to work on my car better...he has no thumbs

The guy that JUST started an account and made his first post on this thread is obviously a Spintek friend/worker/owner whatever. No denying that.

Only thing I will add to this is...Spintek is not new...they've been around for at least 5 years or a little more.

However, they only dealt with one car, The Nissan Sentra SE-R (classic) 91-94  and the ones that followed. I'd know becasue I talked to them about a FWD SR20 swap...way back in the day, although I've had my S14 for almost 8 years...I've had my sentra for 19 years.

Sounds like times are tough (that and the sentra guys are extinct) to where they need to expand their market...and doing a terrible job...They were a notable (sentra/FWD) shop, too bad that their work ethic has gone down.

And to clearify, I'm not the 5th customer, I don't make the 20%, i'm not a "buddy", I don't know them, and I don't know you (except for yao and s13slideways and a couple others who I have tech'd at events) LOL...

Josh is the sentra guy. Jt claimed to specialize in Volkswagen when I was hanging out there. At that time josh didn't even work on the cars he just dealt with parts

Sorry I'm not a spintek friend, owner, worker or whatever. I let them work on my car because I dont know anybody else who will do a decent job. If anyone could recommend somebody that would be KEWL, until then they are the only ones other than myself. What sucks is I dont know how to weld (yet) But I am looking for a good fabricator so I can get my Cage, and bash bars so I can start doing some serious bashing.

Josh is stil the parts guy and JT did tell me he specializes in VW's which dont bother me. Like I said they got my car up and running again. I didn't ask for more nor less.

I agree Statistics don't lie, Who can go against a whole board of stats, who knows maybe they learned. I came late in the game, and dont know anybody but Forrest Wang and Mike Bolanos. I dont blame you for thinking I'm a friend of spintek. I'm happy that they got me running that's all, especially after my run in with CTR Motorsports. Everyone has an opinion and I'll let them have it, I'm just giving mine ;) and Like I said I've been on VD for a while just never had the time nor interest to start an account till now since I FINALLY got my S13 coupe. So, Tis kool, Once I get into my car myself I'll be around (after a lil practice) to enter in some of the Meets. Those are my plans and any way to get them together I'll take. Maybe point me in the right direction is all I ask at this point.

I had my cage done by Belfab racing down at the speedway. They did an awesome Job for a great price, not to mention the bash bars spintek advertises are made by belfab. not by spintek. so to save a good time go directly to belfab and get them done. talk to adam. if you look at my build page youll see he does good fab work.

If your looking for a cage i would go see Kyle at DDS, he has built 2 for me now. The first one i hit a wall at 70+mph and I walked away. Aaron also hit the same wall 70+ in Kyles cage and had him cage his next car too. Forrest also makes sick ass cages, I just could not afford his cage at the time. One of the 2 should be able to take care of your needs.
