copying? lol dont worry im not the first with a rz powered corolla, but maybe the first for drift purposes, both the 2rz and 3rz are amazing engines, i did want to turbo the 4a and go w58 and 7.5 truck diff, but seeing a pro like taka with a fully built 4a and not doing so great agaist the mountain of v8 powered cars i knew i would need more because its the same here in pro-am, i chose the 2rz because its cheaper to get over the 3rz and it can rev to 8200rpm with a better valvetrain so it will fell like a more powerful high revving 4age, and best of all its still 4 cylinder Toyota!!! i would recommend to go with a 2rz over the 3rz if you are having trouble letting go of the 4ag like i was, you can make 300hp and rev high on stock internals and still have room to grow should you decide to build the engine, best of luck to you with your build if you need more info on 2rz send me a pm

1slowna6- thanks MegaSquirt is truly the best ems, i cant wait to do some drift events in it.

stockdrift- i actually got the 8.8 for free thats why i went with it, but i asked at pic-a-part and you can get the whole rear end for $100, ive never seen the diff area of a te72 but if its the same as the ae86 (should be) i can cut the old brackets and weld you the correct ones when you get the diff, just pm me your number and we can make this happen.

Wow just looked over this whole thread, it's been a long time too long it sucks that my plans didn't go as expected, at times I almost gave up on drifting, but..

I finally will be starting a job soon and will be able to continue this project I hope that 2013 will be the year that I compete in Vegas pro-am, but really I just want to drive my ae86 again,

the updates I have are that I finished the ford 8.8 and mounted 240sx discs and calipers, finished the motor mounts and trans mount, wiring is done (I think), fuel supply is completed, custom driveshaft was purchased

all that is left is welding up a full exhaust, new battery, new radiator with hoses, and small misc. things I can't think of now hope to update soon
