the cable to release hood broke on my 240need help!

so im trying to start my car but i need to jump start it but found out that the cable is completely off the latch thing. how can i open up the hood with out the cable? i know theres gotta be a way just dont know how.  i have 1990 240sx.  i need to release the hood so that i can just pop it open but dont know how plz help

you have to reach up under there and find out where the cable end goes through the latch, and just pull it.

yea but the cable isnt connected to the latch it came off...nd it wont stay back in so idk what to do

i understand this. you said the cable was broken.

broken cable = replace cable. first you have to reach in there and release the latch so you can get to it once your hood is opened.

he is saying that you need to manually pull the latchinside the engine bay that the cable would normally pull.

yea sorry what Dook-E said is right though, the cable came of the latch.  its been like a week now and still can't open it...
