i used to have a NGR quick release on my s13, now i have a s14 and i wanna get another one, but i dont want one that sticks out hella far and cant justify paying out the ass for NGR's "shallow mount" one. anyone have any suggestions on where to look or which to get? please include reasons (if any) for your preference. it's going on my street car so i want something that's gonna look CLEAN
thanks!

first of all: street cars don't need quick releases. second, Nrg best suits import cars...everything else will not meet your criteria. third, try jegs; summit racing, grant (autozone), etc...and you tell me how those compare to Nrg. via price vs looks fourth, try ebay
I would suggest not daily driving a 240sx

i have a fet quick release. it is farly thin so it could be something to look into and are farily inexpensive iirc. ive had mine since 2005, the locking mechanism broke back in '06-07sih but i still use it to this day. i'd probably buy it again. If the company/product is still around it might be worth looking into.
i agree with danilo though, for a daily i would just bolt down the wheel.

i wouldnt mind hard-mounting the wheel, but it makes working on things and getting in and out SO much easier with the quick release...especially since im just shy of 6'5 and it's all in my legs hahaha

I have a Splash boss and a FET quick release. (I rarely ever take the steering wheel off) If you are looking for a short boss then look at something like this. I wouldn't get a quick release unless u have a Seat with high bolsters or just want a very small piece of mind that it would deter a possible thief.

not bolster...door bars. even with the "tilt" all the way up, i either have to fanangle my way in or get in at a crazy angle. it was an old track car for the person i bought it from and would rather grab a quick release than hurt resale value down the road for a car with a FD spec cage, ya kno? never know when i may wanna sell it and get something else as the daily.

my personal preference is a longer hub that comes up closer to your chest. It feels pretty good, like you have control over the car. And because its removable hub, its still easy to get in and out. Then again....I dont DD this thing.. (wish i could )

my car could now be daily driven and i choose not to. -then again, it has broken one or more rockers on every occasion that i have driven the car.

I agree with yao and robert...
I have a hub extender...it comes to my chest, people who drive my car say you feel kinda like a T-rex cuz your hands are so close to you.
I can daily my car, but choose not to. 240sx's suck. Bad gas mileage for a 4 cycl.

on average mine gets 23 MPG mixed city & highway. that's really not that bad. You don't have anything else better to comapare with, thats why you think the 23mpg is ok. my sentra does about 47 avg, my toyota truck does 30, they're both 4 cycl. as well. my pathfinder (V6) does about 19...
