What the hell is going on yo!!
I wonder what happened for them just to up and quit.
They are the ones that started it, and now they quit that and then Tsuchiya and Inada want to start a new drift series.
I wonder which drivers will still commit to D1GP, and who will leave?

hopefully they come stateside for a series, i've always wanted to legitimately be able to run in D1 or whatever their new series is, considering they started D1 (or so i thought anyways)

Daijiro Inada is THE guy!
He is the one that started the hole tuning world in Japan.
He started all the Option mags, gave Drift Tengoku it's start in the Option mags, he started D1GP and the Tokyo Auto Salon.
If it wasn't for him we would be in the dark ages of the auto world.
To be left with crappy ass cars like the Mustang, Camaro, and the worst of them all....Challenger.

they should talk to the guys at FD and start FD japan with the events in JP and the USA open to all the drivers, That way they could technically have a WORLD Championship Series/Event... Thrown somewhere either in JP or USA with the best 32 drivers out of the two series based purely off of points invited to compete.   that would be pretty sick...  Next to come would be FD EU  then the drivers pool would be so big and driver's could move around into teams in three different areas of the world.  pretty sick if you ask me.

^^That sounds good to me^^
But that would leave out the privateers to only compete in the US or where ever they are from.

I don't know, personally I'm getting pretty fed up with the terrible judging in D1, this change can only be a good thing. D1 hasn't been the same for a while with favorites winning all the time leaving much to be desired. Privateers don't have it good here either, FD's top 3 winners consist of the same people over and over. How many times did Forrest get screwed over this year and Aasbo robbed. Nascar Drifting for the fucking lose with domestic vehicles or V8's coming in left and right and RIDICULOUS rules that indirectly impede the use of RB/2JZ inlines in most chassis. If you don't have the backing of a multi million dollar company you are left in the dust. Truly disgusting.

Hell I prefer the comps in UK/Ireland/Aus I know Driftworks has intentions with amateur leagues etc. With Prodrift and heck even the Triple Crown series being decently balanced.

Maybe the judges was forced to LET certain drivers win.
ex. 3 time champion Imamura Youichi
Last year Imamura wasn't even in the top 3 in points by round 7, but round 8 he won and took the championship.
What kind of bull*ish is that!!!
