Cops are gonna be cops, not a thing anyone can do about it. And no their not regular people.
How did u mount your rear bumper? Did u just slide 4 bolts through the sides into the trunk? Mine is tweaked really bad, and am having some issues with correct fitment.
do you still have the stock rear bumper? you can use the pieces from that to mount up the aftermarket bumper really well. the brackets on the sides of the bumper that have the 4 bolts can be inserted into the new bumper after you mock it up and drill holes. That's how we mounted Yao's bumper and it came out really nice.

If the cops are really lurkin on here thats shady as fuck I agree with danilo... cops are just people doing their jobs like anyone else. I come in contact with plenty of people with shitty attitudes that dont have badges on a regular basis. While i feel certain people have legitimate reason for disliking law enforcement officers (often as a result of various experiences), you statement is genuinely stupid. i do understand though, that some people have legitimate reasons for disliking the inappropriate actions of some individuals and thus have less of a soft spot for police officers. (so i dont need to hear anyone's bad police experience stories, im sure they exist). btw, id love to see you paint your car for $150 or less (including all equipment and supplies) and achieve excellent results. for the $150 you think you are going to save, i would rather keep my garage, clothes, and lungs paint free. cancer treatment it going to cost way more than a few hundred bucks.

Not really sure if all of that was pointed at me or not but I wasn't saying anything negative about the police, two of my cousins are cops... You haven't met me, most of you guys haven't...I'm a pretty sizeable guy and I just so happen to have tattoo's, a lot of them...some in places that are very showing like my hands, neck and yes even my face(because I'm an idiot) they aren't gang related in any way shape or form yet I've been questioned numerous times by police from many different cities and states about possibility being in a gang, keep in mind I have a completely clean record. I've been pulled over countless time's(not in my 240s) for litterly no reason at all, all because the cop saw what I looked like and assumed I was into something law-breaking. Police profile people, other people profile people, it's how life is and when you look different than others it's a HUGE reality check. For example while getting my car smogged today a random guy struck up a conversation with me which led to him telling me I looked like a"stupid fucking mexican gang member"...yeah, kinda took me back a little bit and the hispanic guy at the counter wasn't to happy with him. Oh and I have all the equipment to paint my car, even proper respiratory unit and fans. About the only thing I don't have is my pvc pipe/lexan paint booth I made, I left that back in ohio. I'm actually quite the wiz with the spray can/airbrush and I feel completely comfortable painting my car I won't however compare my mediocre painting skill to a top of the line shop.

Zipties, 4 of them to be exact. What's tweaked? the bumper of the trunk mount? if it's the trunk mount Just measure and mark where it needs to mount and whip out the drill and make some new holes.

well in that case i stand corrected, it sounds like you have your shit together with this task. i hear from way too many people about how much they will save painting a car themselves, 99.763% of them have no idea what is going on or have ever held a spray gun. and regarding the cop comment, it really really really sounded like typical police hate on this end.

Does anyone know how hard it is to get a smog waiver or if they are really stingy about handing them out? $450 doesn't sound half bad after I priced everything online to about half that then realized if I do the work myself and it still doesn't pass I won't be able to get a waiver.
I'm fairly certain my egr seloniod doesn't work and it's actually missing the top connector hose and I can't figure out where the line runs, theres no open spots? I can't find a FSM for an s14 ka online anywhere either.
Since the dmv here is confusing as hell anyone know if they will issue me temporary tags without smogging the car? I know I've eventually going to get pulled over again on my way to a shop/smog station.
I'm super bummed right now.

Yah first time i actually did a paint job with a gun, rather then a can. was when i did my interior. Thankfully the painting aint the hard part. but man, prep is EVERYTHING.

If your car fails smog, you will only get a smog waiver for 10 days (This allows you to drive around with the excuse that you are looking for a shop to send your car in to fix the smog issue). Then you can get another wavier for 3 days. Enough time for you to get a new smog test...I'm pretty familiar with the S14 KA emissions ( I survived the Referee and State inspections LOL) What open spots you looking for? And what is the $450 for?

im reasonably certain you have to get a mechanic to sign off on it (after spending the $450). i had a friend up in reno do it with his 240, so it is possible. Id try to get that done.

Alot of bullshit has gone on in the past few weeks. Finally got the car running good and I ended up sucking something into the turbo which in turn broke a piece of a fin and blew a seal out. Turbo was pretty much shot so I've been wrenching on it for the past week or so, thank god the guy I bought it off of gave me 5 random bins of 240 parts I had everything I needed to convert it back to n/a. I had full intentions of hitting up last weekends event but obviously the man above had other plans for me hahaha. Contemplating just staying na and hopefully problem free. I still need to get it "smogged" mehhh i got the 240 blues

Haven't really done much to the car but I have picked out a paint color, I'm going with boring ass midnight black because it looks good and is pretty simple/clean. I also decided to go ls1...again. Now I just need to get my funds in order and hopefully will have this car up and running for next season. I've been really itching to get out and slide, the cadillac just doesn't do it for me. say goodbye to the multicolor paint!
