Formula D is any better, with their ugly ass cars. (Except Matt P., Mad Mike, Ross P. & Dai)

At least in FD they let them race fairly. D1 is just a drift demo and they use the drivers like puppets.

lets not turn this thread into a comparo, because as much as i love FD unless you have a factory works vehicle, and a $100k ride, you're not making podium.

FD started rad, but now its getting pretty insane with team falken killing everyone, and illegal scion TC's with nascar V8's and shit.... there never was the same chassis produced in canada, or japan yet somehow they are allowed to use the drivetrain from an allwheeldrive toyota crossover from japan.... hell if thats the case why cant dudes in corollas use supra subframes. why cant nissan s13 dudes use the r32/33 front subframes for their RB'?!

lets not get started on it, cause each series has their own little "flaws". hell even XDC has its own as well... times change obviously as have each independent series. it is what it is.

D1 is what i grew up watching so im sorry if i'm a little upset with that comment. this is just an internet debate we all have our own outlooks, so dont take it personal...

as a very good friend once told me... "welcome to the politics"
cant change it.

My first drift event was when D1 came to Vegas.  I even got Keiichi Tsuchiya to sign my copy of the Drift Bible.  Needless to say, I have fond memories.

I'm happy to see that D1 is being televised.  Regardless of your preference, you can't deny the skill that a lot of those drivers have (Nobuken, Team Orange, etc.)  You don't get to see 4 car tandems in FD.

The answer to your questions is "who is Stephan Verdier in the 2009 Sonoma event"

The scions are whatever. they shouldn't be allowed to be like that. Hopefully next year they won't be allowed.

The main difference is when you watch a D1 you know its just a show not a race between drivers of who is better. They do stupid shit like in 2007 Vegas the team orange guys just passed eachother in tandem on purpose. After that shit happened you should know its just a show not a race.

FD is a true competition between drivers. this makes for the best show and excitement. The cars are more purpose built than ever and yet the rule book still keeps them within reason. The v8 scion is alot on it but as you can see doesn't just win all the time.

Both are fun to watch and all but just know you watch D1 its a drift demo and FD is a race between the best drivers.

gramlights are knockoffs?

also, its not like those scions just showed up one day. Fd has avenues for petitioning for vehicles that do not necessarily fully conform to the vehicle list.

maybe the cars arent super low in fd, but they are high in every competitive drifting series (including d1). teams build cars to compete, not for boxer dropping (less the rebull guys).

Yeah I thought that was funny, gramlights are knockoffs!
Matt Powers is still low too, he may not be as low as he use to be but still low.

And driftings soul purpose in the beginning was all about style.
How do you think Mad Mike and Matt Powers became so popular.
Also the Team Burst guys and Team Magician.

The only thing I like about FD is the top 32 tandem. That just keeps the action going and gives a chance for the underdogs. ( which never happens especially going against a DA guy)
