its kind of like a gang when your into rx7's lol, WAY stronger of a family than any 240 group... thats for sure...

They need all the support they can get with all those apex seals flying around and shit lol...

on a conservative tune

This is the main thing..... lol... dont forget, that rotarded things happen just like any piston engine. just upping the boost and shit without a re-tune (or at least checking it) will cause havoc to be wreaked.

just rotaries are a bit more sensitive Wink

Guess it all depends on the motor
...and the driver.

i know of TII's still cruising on the original motors, only because dudes dont really beat on them..

hitting revlimit, and seriously railing on them changes any "tune". not trying to start anything, but just saying, if you every once in awhile jump on your car racing someone, thats not really proving the quality of the tune/build.
drifting where you're full throttle, full boost, banging revs, and all your wires and shit getting thrown around + fuel in your tank getting moved from side to side, can seriously end your motor no matter the tune. my last turbo motor seriously with held over 300 pulls. atleast. i beat the living shit out of it. racing dumb ass cars that would fly by me on the freeway.

make sure you always have atleast a half tank of gas (91, or 105 when possible. usually a mix is good.)
keep an eye on your wideband, keep the tune in the 12's or even 11's on the AFR's. its better to waste gas than to blow up your investment.
make sure your harness is tied down appropriately, and even clip in the fuel pump wire into that stupid holder behind your DS shock tower. i've had that shit come unplugged while street drifting, and litterally scare the shit out of me. first thing that comes to your mind is "fuck now how am i going to get home" lol
swing it by when its running, and we'll once over everything just to make sure. i wanna see this thing bombing into my door at events!

if done right, they are ok

problem is quite a few things really, the stock system sucks...end of story.

you can run a stock turbo + manifold with intake/exhaust....if you have a wideband, 800cc secondaries, stand alone, aluminum/copper radiator, and a good compression motor. And obviously you have to do everything maintenance wise. The best way to keep it fresh in my opinion is auxiliary injection.

and that's just on a stock set up, tbh though, it gets easier with after market manifolds and turbos.

its really not so much the motor though, its that everyone doesn't do all those things, most just skip on the stand alone or favor a piggy back, which has very varied results.

and btw, who is your friend ?

Hey did you sell the "street ported" motorset you had to my friend Chris, was it the one that came out of this car?

Okay a few things

The good
-the starting issue was due to the fuel pump design in the rx7 walbaro. it uses a little plastic screen with a metal o ring and sits inside this tube coming from the fuel sending unit and has a little wider opening on the end. you stick a rubber o ring in there after the rest i previously mentioned. it wasnt holding pressure right so we just chopped that piece off and ran a hose just like you do on every other damn walbaro ha.

-Starting and idleing fine on the NA ecu. (not hitting it however ha)

-A/C BABY!!!!!!!! Grin Grin Grin

-Got the fuel pump hardwired up with a relay

-have a vatozone flex pipe as the DP till i can take it to DDS for the custom pipe.

-rim came in the mail and getting the tires tomorrow along with new lugs

-getting her registered and insured now.  Grin

The bad
-i ordered the Jspec ecu N374 and its having the common problem with no fuel for the rear rotor. so now i have to get a chip and have no smog or spend hella dough on the N370 Aspec ecu. ( :'()

-small oil drip from oil cooler but i think it just needs new o-rings

Well guys i went from nothing to this in a week. shit was very fun and im gonna have an even better time rolling in it. still have alot ahead of me here but the majority of it is done. and running strong. very strong. DONT BE AFRAID OF JSPEC MOTORS, just do your research first, find a trusted company. thanks for lookings guys. more soon.

the ideal stock setup is s5 turbo, ported wastegate.
the ideal stock setup is one that work work reliably and take abuse from the factory

this is where you're correct. like i said, when i bought my current TII car, its withheld atleast 300-400pulls, redlines, plus me advancing timing, no wideband stock injectors, and 3"DP/straight exhaust. all with only a fuel cut defender and the stock fuel cut rev limiting ECU (why i never hit rev limit, and always have to gay modulate throttle)
it's when you get kids throwing them in NA's without the factory sensors and beating on them, they just cant tolerate it.

if the motor is legit, it usually never fails due to it itself. its always either a map sensor, tps, afm, or some other dumb sensor shitting out and causing the ecu to get fraudulent codes. one reason why i really need to invest in a standalone.

joe i swear to god if you drive your car on that NA ecu again you'll end that motor. all it takes is one pull, and its done.... come to chris's and borrow a turbo one or buy one. s4/s5, is all the same just about and will work. as soon as your 326/327 ecu sees boost its cutting all fuel unless you tie in a few check valves before the map sensor. trust me dude its no fun, just wait another day and have it right. but if you blow it we're here for you. just hit up chris.
