did you check the fuel tank? if your pump hanger looked like that then you might have a few problems with the tank.

ya man, lol sludge in the tank. letting it soak in acid. hopefully it will get it all out
i remember working on a miata that had been sitting for more than 4 years in a back yard, and inside the fuel tank was nothing but tarnish.

good luck to you sir.

indeed...
if your shit looked that bad hit up pic a part, spend 30bux and get a better tank.

did you compression test the motor when u got it??
make sure the starter harness is grounded to the starter bolt under the oil filter pedestal.
JDM harness, is different. it only two pins you just have to repin, and honestly i cant remember which ones, but its for the powersteering computer and something else stupid.

you should have pulled the intakes off, and ran new fuel line, making sure they arent sandwiched between the rats nest/crap. truthfully if you remove that non sense not only will you be able to degrease all the shit off the block to ensure it doesnt keep in heat, but your car will be more responsive.. get some blockoff plates, a fuel cut defender, a wideband, AND a boost controller  and it should be good as long as the motor isnt hurt.

SWAP IS DONE! Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin

Well tonight we finally got everything done. motor is in, harness functioning. Gas tank is cleaned out and walbaro is in. Finally found out that the reason it was cranking was because of this little connector between the starter relay and the starter.

So total into this project im around $3800  Undecided Roll Eyes Cheesy
-News
--motor mounts
--tranny mounts with crossmember
--fuel filter
--vacuum lines(entire motor)
--fuel lines
--lateral support
--pressure sensor
--radiator hoses
--rim
--tires
--engine & trans
--T2 hood
--driver side s5 mirrors
--Mazdatrix custom N/A diff to Turbo2 one piece driveshaft & T2 throttle cable

Car was definitely and still is a project, it was very fun though. learned alot from this. i'd say overall whole swap was 6/10 on difficulty. there was just so much stuff to go threw again

did you have the wastegate ported ?

if not, you need to, otherwise you will get boost creep and it will destroy an engine pretty quick

lol thats why he said it. S5's spike like a motherfucker too.

the ideal stock setup is s5 turbo, ported wastegate.

yea, the wastegate is still way to small for anything above stock, as soon as you put an intake/exhaust on the car it will spike up to 16 lbs of boost

Looks like you have good progress... 3800 is alot to drop hoping you dont ruin your car on the track... Good luck though, at least you have friends that know what their doing...

Out of all of the rx7's that I owned in the past.... The n/a was the most reliable, and it was good to have friends that knew about them... its not really something you can just jump into and be able to do, its kind of like a gang when your into rx7's lol, WAY stronger of a family than any 240 group... thats for sure...

And you have buckey, and backalleyracer theyve been around for way to long...

Well thanks for the input guys, I will keep everyone in the know of what's going on. Just for the record my friend has a stock s5 t2 he swapped, boosting 15 on a conservative tune for a few years. Guess it all depends on the motor
