Only people that cant flux core or mig correctly (cannot get speed and temp right), resort to TIG in search of spatter free welds. But i give it up to the dude who stitches a whole car for under 50-60 bucks!!! thats just me

What the hell are you talking about?

LOOOOL DUUUUUDE yao ming, nobody said TIG is easier them MIG. Its a fucking waste of money (in this case)  WHAT ARE YOU SAING, I CANT STITCH WELD MY CAR WITH A MIG?Huh???. The metal on a car is so thin you can get away with a 110 flux core.
Now if im building a turbo manifold, i will be tig welding that sucker.

like i said its harder not to get any spatter with a flux core or a mig. TIG does not spatter as much

And TIG has its place to be used ( and its not for stitch welding ) offcourse it can be done, but is it worth the money for sticks and GAS, when you can get the same result with alot less with a mig or even a flux core.

thats why they say,....learn to walk before you can run. just because someone picks up a TIG doesnt make him competent in using it, OR KNOWING WERE A TIG IS NEEDED AND WERE ITS NOT.

Thats right, its time consuming and thats why u use a mig for stiching up yout car. there is no way you can fuck that up. but if im making a manifold i will be using a TIG.

all im saying its a waste of time and money to TIG stitch weld your car. by the time hes done with the engine bay, ill be finishich up the trunk area and be done.

But some of you will say.... well hes got all the time in the word, well still cant see 1 GOOD REASON TO STITCH WELD YOUR CAR WITH A TIG!!!!!

Oh yeah YAO its called tungsten

I wasnt saying to stitch weld your car in TIG. That would be stupid. Mine is MIG'd as well. I was just lookin at Dorifto's post and i thought he meant TIG was where you go if you dont know how to use MIG. my thought is like...if you dont know how to MIG...you probably cant TIG for shit. lol.

UR right Yao, all i was saying is that, IF YOU KNEW WHAT YOU WERE DOING/ KNEW HOW & WHEN TO USE SPECIFIC WELDING TECNIQUES, YOU WOULD NOT CHOOSE TO TIG STITCH WELD.

GTAW welding also known as tungsten inert gas (TIG) welding is most commonly used to weld thin sections of stainless steel and non-ferrous metals such as aluminum, magnesium, and copper alloys.

Many have commented about his previous S13 stuff being OVER THE TOP, & i classify this to be over the top as well (and not in a good way).

U TIG weld stuff that DEFFECTS are not tolareted and strenght and complete heat penetration with no atmosperic contamination is needed.

Wich in this guys case he doesnt need, so if anybody can give me a good reason, ur more then welcome to explain!!!

And no, dont tell me "CUZ ITS BALLER" cuz its not. its wastefull of the 2 resource we all need - $$$$ & TIME

And dont say "he's got all the time in the world" because he does not!!!!

Wow, ok I go work on my car for 5 hours and all this shit is going on.
Well here is the reason... First, Travers and I are doing the same thing, stitch welding & doing tubs!!!  He told me he is on the way to buy his 5th roll of cord which totals to 50+tax!!!
My fillers were $14 and I still  have a lot left!!  Gas is $60 and again I still have some left!!!
So, YES, he did save $25.00...!!!
Now, for an even BETTER reason (Doriftos Spec.) I can learn how to TIG weld while welding my own car!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I can practice on scrap metal, thats how people learn to TIG!  That still wastes filler and GAS or you can  go to school and learn it! Or I can spend the extra $25 LOL.
Now for being time consuming..... NOT REALLY! (ask Travers)!!!
I stitch welded the car and did the tubs in 2 days BUT after MIG, you will spend another day just cleaning splatter. Well I think I explained my reasons! Peace!

If it was like that, everybody will be doing it ( tig stitch welding ). But they don't. WE CAN ASK Forrest, Joel or Kyle DDS, they know theyre shit.

Practice on alloys and aluminum or stainless. hahahah

AND WHAT THE HECK ARE THOSE, ARE YOU RUNNING TRACTOR WHEELS. HAHAHA

Like i said, OVER THE TOP, but thaaaaats just meeeee!!!

And if those paper templetes took longer then tig welding, you should prolly quit all together, & be a TIG WELDOR @ FULL RACE. hahahaha

Well ima peace outa this thread, cus with all this jiber jaber we just making it look like its a populer thread!!! Undecided ant it sirtanly aint with all this TUB-MANIA, TRACKTOR WHEEL, negative TOE shit
