would it have been more difficult to just make a shroud from scratch? though i assume it was probably just done like this out of convenience, since it was likel a decent deal for the fans/shroud combo.

It would've been better looking, cost more and taken more time the way I would have done it. It was out of convenience and ease. The shroud so far has cost about 10$ in metal and about a hour of time so far.

Fan shroud is 90% done... sorry no pictures till tomorrow. I have a test in Composite Materials tomorrow morning. I've learned lots about carbon fiber and Kevlar. I should resume tomorrow evening with more updates and pictures.

Seems like you got the slave figured out! I can't wait to see how this works out! I hope your not posting this shit on zilvia or anything tho... If this works as smooth as I think it is everyone is gonna be tracking down rb26 trannies... At the same time I told you I just glanced at it and never actually done this swap so I'm itching to see what all is involved. Your like my little guinea pig! haha

you can definitely take credit for the idea, havent been able to find intarweb evidence of anybody trying this yet. I am trying to be surprised as to how well this worked out, but knowing Nissans and swapability its just sickening lol... rb26 trans is about to do the same jump in price as the KA did a while back, time to start stocking up!!!

Paid $150 for mine. Seems like you got the slave figured out! I can't wait to see how this works out! I hope your not posting this shit on zilvia or anything tho... If this works as smooth as I think it is everyone is gonna be tracking down rb26 trannies...
I found one guy on KA-t who did the same thing, but that was it and I would have never looked if it wasn't for your insight. I am not posting this on Zilvia. No Worries. For Bellhousing it was drilling out 3 bolts on top. Everything else lines up perfectly. Then drill out the threads in the KA Starter and run the bolts through from the front of the motor towards the back to screw into the rb26 bell housing. For the Slave I believe it is off a D21 Pick up and you just have to drill out the holes a little bit to make it fit. I will keep you all posted and throw up something in the tech articles when it is finished.
