what Finch is saying so eloquently, is that a head gasket seems simple but is so crucial to the overall performance and reliability of the engine that any small mistake could lead to disaster down the road. You need someone with a lot of experience and all of the proper tools and the proper environment to work on the car. If you've done it once or twice, you will be like "yeah i can dos it" but when you have done it hundreds of times, you can do it right the first time. There is no replacement for experience.

There are some capable people on here... There are way more that aren't capable but the problem is every single one is going to say they are. I've been doing this for 8 years now and trust me I've never seen a whole lot of good come from trusting some backyard mechanics with your shit.
You may have removed a cylinder head before... Yeah you can get it done with a computer and your husky toolset. I do this shit all day every day and no one on here has the tools and equipment I do. I see all kinds of fucked up shit! I see more cars get fucked up this way instead of fixed. Am I saying GSXR1000 here can't get it done right? No... I'm saying it's not worth the risk because he sees money and would tell you he knew everything whether he did or not.
