Las Vegas Motor Speedway to host Vegasdrift 2008 on Sunday

LAS VEGAS � Las Vegas Motor Speedway will be the place to be for drifting enthusiasts this weekend. The speedway will host Vegasdrift 2008 on Sunday from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Vegasdrift 2008 is a drifting workshop and exhibition that will give participants a safe environment to learn and practice the basics of the sport of drifting. Registration is $150 and is open to drivers of any experience level.

�We want to be able to show participants how to compete in this growing and exciting sport safely,� said Nick Dizon of Vegasdrift LLC. �Drifting involves a lot of car control, finesse and technique and this event gives drivers, especially the younger participants, the opportunity to have some fun learning the sport in a safe environment.�

LVMS has hosted D1 and Formula Drift competitions for the past three years. Drifting began many years ago in Japan and has grown in popularity in the United States over the past several years. Vegasdrift will include several exhibitions, competitions and workshops where participants can learn from experienced drifters and also get behind the wheel for some hands-on driving action.
